Large Surface Area for Multiple Activities
With a large 50-inch-by-32-1/2-inch (L x W) surface area, the Multi-Activity Table offers a spacious platform for a variety of activities. Its 16-inch height is conveniently sized for young children, making it easy for them to access the table while either kneeling or sitting on the floor. The table is ideal for putting together a puzzle, assembling arts and crafts, or playing a game. The generously sized play surface allows two kids to play separate activities at the same time.
To make clean up and storage easy, the table features a jumbo-sized drawer on the side that can store games, art supplies, and other playtime accessories.
Sturdy Wooden Construction Ensures Lasting Play
The Multi-Activity Table is made of lightweight yet sturdy wooden particle board. The green tabletop surface is made of two removable, double-sided plyboard pieces. Each piece has a small hole to grip for easy removal.
In addition to being an environmentally friendly choice, the table's materials are durable enough for even the most rambunctious child. With safety in mind, the table's edges and corners are sanded and rounded to protect kids.
Assembly and Setup
Assembling the Melissa & Doug Deluxe Wooden Multi-Activity Table took our testers approximately one hour to complete. The instructions are easy to understand, with large illustrations and light text offering guidance where necessary. While a single adult can manage the table's assembly alone, it helps to have two adults to assemble some of the larger sections.
Despite the relatively straightforward nature of assembly, our testers did encounter some issues. Some of the pre-drilled holes and pre-cut pieces were challenging to align, requiring strong hands to force into place. When assembly is complete, the drawer can be difficult to open and close. However, once assembled, the table provides a broad, stable area that offers ample play space.

We were all constantly stepping on pieces, having to redo the track layout, etc. Now she can play for quite a while without wreaking "butt-zilla" havoc by sitting on everything.She does sometimes still sit on the table next to the track, but the table is sturdy enough to hold her 30 lbs. just fine. And when she takes the track apart, at least the pieces are enclosed rather than being scattered all over the floor. No need to buy the brand name (Thomas) tables...this one is so much less expensive and still solid. The drawer is also quite deep and long to store the rest of her train set accessories. We have several Melissa and Doug wooden toys and so far we've had no construction issues with them. The cons are that it is already showing several scuff marks on the white paint, and it's only a month old. It was extremely easy to assemble, and took about 30-45 minutes. Note that it is quite low to the ground. Our two-year-old has to be on his knees to play with it.
